Among men with lung cancer, those who ate the most tomato and orange, prolong its life. Researchers are granted credit to the compounds contained in vegetables and fruits.
The candidate most likely were the lycopene in tomatoes and other vegetables carotenoids, including beta carotene, in test tubes, has been shown to destroy tumor cells through different mechanisms.
