Although intestinal lymphomas can be detected during the study of an obstruction or blood loss, its onset is usually insidious and only lead to vague symptoms of weakness and weight loss.
In general the prognosis of primary lymphoma is better than other locations. Survival at ten years of patients with disease limited to the mucosa is almost 85%.
Early diagnosis is essential for survival, therefore, gastric lymphomas tend to have better long-term prognosis than those of small and large intestine.
The most important factors for prognosis are the depth of local invasion, tumor size, histologic grade, and the extension to adjacent organs.
